ScotiaLight Appoints Gorm Teichert As New CEO

Scotialight has taken the next step in its development by appointing Gorm Teichert as CEO with effect from 8th June 2014. Gorm has 25 years of senior management experience within the lighting industry and has worked in the USA and UK as well as Scandinavia.

Formerly Gorm was managing director of Lightmakers; a subsidiary of Louis Poulsen, before moving to Louis Poulsen as lighting director and VP. He then moved to London to become managing director of ERCO UK. Upon leaving ERCO, he then returned to Denmark to become international sales and marketing director for Martin Professional and later SVP for Business Development. The next challenge was a move to the USA and the position of CMO, Lighting Science Group based in Sacramento. He then joined Lumenpulse in Montreal as EVP of international sales, based in London.

According to ScotiaLight founder and chairman Steven Scott, “Gorm will bring a wealth of sales, project and general management experience to our team. I have followed Gorm’s meteoric rise through the international lighting industry. This particular experience matches the scope of our business in ScotiaLight. The aims are to consolidate the business in the GCC and build operations out of the Milan production facility with our partner Topglass. From this platform in the EU we will build a bridge to the North American market. I am truly delighted that Gorm has chosen ScotiaLight as his next challenge.”
