China’s Growing Importance In Lighting Industry Shown By Massive Opple Debut on Shanghai Stock Exchange
Shares in Opple, the lighting maker controlled by China billionaire couple Ma Xiuhui and Wang Yaohai, soared by their 44% upper limit on debut at the Shanghai Stock Exchange today.
Ma and Wang hold 41.9% and 40.5% of Opple after the company’s IPO, worth 10.3 billion yuan, or a combined $1.6 billion, at today’s closing price. Ma, 45, is CEO and one of Asia’s most influential businesswomen; Wang Yaohai, 49, is the chairman.
