Latest Design Trends On Show in Paris
New Trends in Design, Materials and Manufacturing.
The January edition of the Parisian design and interiors trade fair Maison et Objet is viewed by many as setting the tone for the year ahead. The huge fair comprised nine exhibition halls at the Parc des Expositions in Paris. According to show organisers, the fair hosted 3,194 exhibitors and attracted around 83,000 visitors over the five days of the show.
This year the theme was “make”, in response to growing interest in the process of how things are made across the design world. ‘MAKE’ was expressed in areas entitled ‘NATURE MADE’, ‘HUMAN MADE’ and ‘TECHNO MADE’. Lighting on show at the fair featured LEDs and OLEDs, showing that new technology can be incorporated artistically into many designs.
