Experience Centre ‘De Brug van Vroenhoven’
Experience Centre ‘De Brug van Vroenhoven’ (Belgium) is located underneath the bridge over the Albert Canal near Maastricht. Two distinct stories are joined together; the start of the second World War for Belgium around the bridge of Vroenhoven and the world of canals and transport over the inland waterways. The Albert Canal forms the border between The Netherlands and Belgium.
‘De Brug van Vroenhoven’ tells the complete war story of south-eastern Limburg, back in May 1940. The story is illustrated with interactive elements, multimedia presentations and numerous military- and other items of the 1940’s. The Inland Shipping Experience is dedicated to the world of canals and inland shipping. This exhibition tells everything about management of the Belgian canals, ship types, the operation of the locks and the effects on the economy and the environment.
The designer of the exhibition, Marcel Engelen of CatchaClient bvba from Genk (Belgium), needed a very compact, yet versatile track mount fixture for the illumination of various showcases. The Focus Compact T DMX with zoom optics from CLS-Led proved to be the best option: it can be controlled via DMX where needed, while in most cases the CLS Magno dimming system was already sufficient. Due to the excellent colour rendition (CRI 95), all the unique items on display can be seen in their most natural colours.
For general lighting, the Ultima Track was Marcel’s first choice: “This fixture was the perfect combination of low glare properties and unique design form, which was a perfect match with the existing interior of the venue.”
The main contractor Reynders Bouw en Interieur realized this project with White Light nv, commissioned by nv De Scheepsvaart, the municipality of Riemst and the provence of Limburg.
All CLS fixtures were supplied by Plazza Group, based in Houthalen (Belgium).
