Environmental Lighting Designer — Hoare Lea

What You’ll Be Doing:
We are looking to recruit an Environmental Lighting Designer. Ideally the successful candidate will have relevant environmental lighting design experience (light pollution/impact assessments) and be used to working within a lighting design team on a variety of projects.

The successful candidate will be required to produce light impact assessments, as conceptual lighting design information, provide detailed lighting integration information, attend meetings, liaise with the design team and provide project support for all RIBA stages.

They will be highly motivated, passionate, enthusiastic, imaginative, and be able to demonstrate excellent design and project management skills within their current position.

What We Are Looking For:
You should have a degree in design, architecture, engineering, environmental or a similar discipline. A knowledge or awareness of the environmental and human impacts of light pollution, preferably with experience of working in a lighting consultancy or relevant discipline. You will have a working knowledge of exterior lighting design and light impact issues, both its technical aspects and aesthetically, and an ability to express ideas both visually and verbally. Training will be provided where necessary, but you must be able to show a track record of learning new skills.

You will require an understanding of some lighting design calculation tools; such as AGI 32, Lighting Reality, Relux or Dialux, however training will be provided to an appropriate candidate. Knowledge of AutoCAD (BIM), Photoshop, Office and 3D design tools would be beneficial for this role.
