Business Development Director, Smart Lighting

Job Description:

This company  is an innovative LED lighting manufacturer headquartered in Shanghai, China. It develops, manufactures and distributes LED lighting products in the markets of Europe, North America, APAC, etc. In the last 10 years, it has grown into an industry leader (consistently ranked in the top 3). The recently launched ED lamp + wireless speaker controlled by smart phone shows that the company has entered the Smart Lighting sector as a pioneer.

The position:

Business Development Director – Smart Lighting
Covering the Netherlands, Germany, UK and France (combined, flexible)
Number of job openings: 1 person in phase one; Immediate opening
Location:Any of above countries (home base acceptable)
Reporting to: General Manager Europe, based in Cologne, Germany, and VP Global Sales and Marketing, based in China headquarters

Job responsibilities:

Identify potential key account and new business opportunities
Open key accounts together with the team
Achieve sales targets and other objective assigned
Make an annual sales plan and budget and implement
Regular market and competition reports
Support marketing activities

Ideal profile:

  • Consumer electronics industry background (working experience with Bose, JBL, Philips CE, Sony, Sonos, etc.)
  • Strong Sales/Marketing/Business Development experience
  • Strategic thinking, innovation oriented, market driven
  • Experience in dealing with key retailers of consumer electronics in Europe (MediaMarkt/Saturn, etc.)
  • Experience in B2C online marketing
  • Ability in dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience in dealing with Asian employer/business partners
  • Hands on working style
  • Flexibility in way of working (working hours, travel, etc.)
  • Willingness in adapting/bridging different cultures
