Ansell Lighting Win The LIA 2019 Award for Quality Assurance
The LIAQA Award was introduced by the LIA to acknowledge the commitment to quality displayed by the participants of this unique quality scheme.
The LIA offers members this industry specific Quality Assurance solution, which addresses legislative and regulatory requirements specific to the lighting industry and is designed to operate as a robust standalone quality solution, or as a scheme to work in conjunction with ISO9001.
Using a modular approach and focusing on ‘product type’ specific requirements, LIAQA identifies the criteria for product acceptance, manufacturing process requirements, and the evidence that supports product conformity.
The LIAQA team analysed and deliberated over the one hundred and thirty plus LIAQA participants, using a variety of criteria, which culminated in three companies being nominated for the 2019 Award.
Established in 1992, Ansell Lighting is a recognised market leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality luminaires for the commercial, domestic, industrial and architectural markets.
Ansell are recognised as a LIAQA Assured Company for lamps, domestic luminaires, commercial luminaires, emergency lighting and outsource supply and were presented with the award due to their heavy investment in quality assurance and how they have embraced the LIAQA scheme both in the UK and the Far East.
Focus has been placed on implementing improved quality processes, alongside staff training and investing heavily in third party product testing. They have produced a robust system for product approval, technical file generation and maintenance, and quality assurance checks, all supported by a dedicated QA team.
The award was presented to Operations Director Jason Dwan by LIA’s CEO, Steve Davies.
Since its introduction, the LIA have witnessed how the LIAQA scheme is benefitting LIA member companies. With significant benefits being realised by those who have actively embraced the scheme, like all three of this year’s nominees, which the LIA believes should be celebrated
